Pavement photos

coughing up teeth [no, wait, not teeth, tic tacs].

Bad things come in threes - i don't remember where Ive heard that but i know it to be true - today, after a rather tumultuous week, i received the third and final installment in the latest "three bad things" saga. After the initial shock wore off - i had to laugh. Its hard to give that sentence the right expression, I am genuine about laughing, i laughed, i saw the humour in a situation that has the potential to monumentally fuck things up for me! Aw sometimes you gotsa' laugh, you really do.

Today was immense and I'm staring down the barrel of what will be a weekend to remember , for all the wrong reasons. I'm in a bit of a spot, and after stressing all last night and this morning Ive now resigned myself to the fact that when events conspire to uypset the apple cart in such a ridiculous fashion, its hillarious. Someone shooting a fly with a shotgun kinda funny. My situation is truly hilarious -its comically absurd. Ill post more tomorrow, right now i really need a good nights sleep.

The pavement/lane way photo collection is coming along well, got more today! Ill post a few more when i get a chance. The rain has set in in Perth, storms and heavy showers. It actually brings the writing in the cement out more, which is great because i noticed alot of older ones appeared worn and very light, hard to see and hard to photograph. Im planning a trip around some of the older suburbs in hunt of the earliest dates i can find! I find this so exciting, its the most exciting thing ive done in along time, which i hope doesnt say alot!

But as for now, its time to get into bed, put on a western movie and have my final cigarette.

I swear, i have no inclination to write about my recent experiences, that always seems a tad indulgent in a blog they have been just...~shakes head, smiling~ aw man. I might turn them into a web comic, and post them on here in tandem with my wet cement photos - this is turning into a pretty random blog.

Oh, one final thing, I got into an arts course at tafe! Don't recall if i mentioned anything about it, but I'm starting the course in July , certificate IV in Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft! This is the best news Ive had all year, and the only news that's mattered. Anyway enough, i gotta go, stay tuned and take care!

modern fossils

Heres a few old wet-cement writings i found today. I actually saw the "lincoln st mafia" a long time ago, and have always liked it - its in Highgate in Perth. I have no idea who the "lincoln street mafia" is , but its pretty eyecatching. I might hunt some more tommorow. I found about 30 all together today, these are some of the best ones - if flickr wasnt so slow, id upload the rest.

procras, procastri,pocra...pro..putting things off.

Way too tired this morning - its still just morning. Have spent the past few hours googling questions. "is it possible to be born without a belly buttong" - apparently it is! that is quite cool. also had a look at an interesting body mod, having a magnet implanted in your finger - not just cool, but apparently you gain a sixth sense of sorts from it - im going to see if theres anywhere in Perth that would be game to have a go at it! They do dermal anchors and implants so i suppose they could?

I have to take a form into my old place of employment today to get it filled out - not looking forward to it. Theyre cool people, but itll be awkward - i quit my job a while back , 2 months ago now, and still havent found another job. If i tell them i havent got a job, im sure theyd offer me one, and i just dont want to work there - long story. Been living off savings and the proceeds from the sale of my collection of game consoles - ill take a pic of whats left, for posterity. Funnily enough im not that sad to see them go - theyve been sitting in my wardrobe since i moved in to the place im currently living .

Its nearly 12 - i want to do something interesting today , im so sick of being at home! I was thinking about trying to compile a collection of photos of things written in wet cement arount perth - like "doug 4 julie" . I walk alot and theres heaps of stuff around perth - ive seen a lot of "SLAYER"s , and theres heaps of neat stuff in concrete around the highgate area. Scouting out some of these would sure beat watching "The View" - that show seriously melts my brain.

Also wanted to buy some balsa wood, was thinking of carving some fishing lures - my dad used to make heaps in the back shed, some really cool ones! i remember one that he made to look like a stick of TNT - dont think it ever caught a fish , but it looked great sitting in his tackle box! He carved alot of them out of an old broom stick handle - for some reason i just started thinking about it last night

I'd best make a start!

punctuate like a vandal

Hello, and welcome! My names daniel , and im from Perth Australia. Ive been meaning to start a blog for a while now, and so this morning - on the 18th of May 2009, having just been woken up from idle dreaming after recieving a call from my dad, i have!

Ive never written a blog of any sort, its kind of hard to get into the writing style of one, im sure it just kind of comes after a while !

I have read blogs for along time - at the moment im reading the blog of an Australian woman named Olive Riley, who has now passed on, but was blogging with the help of her friend at a remarkable age - if i knew how to link, i would write "here", and it would be in a different color to the rest of the text on this page!

I have always liked the honesty behind blogs, by which i mean the honesty in regards to who the blogger is. The sharing of insight gained through experience, the transference accross the world of ideas, philosophies, culture, information - its just so refreshing! I kind of think of blogs almost as a piece of art, i guess a blog is an electronic self portrait. Its incredible to watch lives and projects unfold. In that vein, im hoping for mine to act as a means of a slight record of events, a life and times in a non-melodramatic sense, a personal reference, and a place to for me to post about current projects and photos of artistic misadventure !

I dont know if a bit of context would help the blog along, but i think that in my next post, ill maybe recap some recent events. These are interesting times, and im having a ball!

I'm off now to have a coffee, a ciggarette and a shower, at the same time to save time, and head out. I need to make a visit to the bank, and also want to make a start on a photography project, after being inspired to after browsing some of the flicker photo projects linked to on boing boing.

Please forgive the rampant over use of the comma. I cant help myself!

i tend to punctuate like a vandal - punktuation?
